This year’s Salon du livre honored Israeli literature on the occasion of Israel’s 60th anniversary, a choice, that became controversial with Arab and Muslim countries threatening to boycott, with Israeli writers threatening to boycott because of the controversy and with the bookfair going off quite well, until a fake bomb threat was called in at the end of the event.
