Sur Titles: The new subtitles?
My daughter has been developing her skills as a percussionist -- or at least that's what I tell myself watching her play "Rock Band." The girl's got mad skills.
At the same time, I've noticed how the kids have no problem reading the lyrics as they scroll across the top of the game.
Which makes me wonder: Are we raising a generation that will accept subtitles again? Currently it is hard to get any American to watch a foreign films. But maybe, maybe, this new generation raised on rock band will accept watching movies where the words appear on the screen.
We mightl need to make the words scroll across and appear at the top of the screen rather than at the bottom. It is worth the experiment. Who knows, it might just work.
