“Old Brooklyn” is new album of the year!

I’m going to write about this at further length at some point, but I have been listening to Andy Statman’s new double CD “Old Brooklyn” and it is a virtuoso performance – after virtuoso performance in blue grass, new grass, klezmer, blues, boogie woogie, American roots music. I was sent the CD by a publicist after she saw my Klezmatics column — she said it was one of the best records she had heard all year — and so far, I have to agree.
